Plant your roots in Christ and let him be the foundation for your life. Be strong in your faith, just as you were taught. And be grateful. Colossians 2:7 (CEV)
Excited to go on a journey with the next generation, sharing biblical truths to empower these young people on their spiritual path. We are student ministry leaders, parents, and the church community
members working to equip our younger generations with the tools and wisdom needed to face challenges and take advantage of opportunities while deepening their understanding of faith and how it applies practically.
ROOTED GENERATION
Our mission is to provide guidance and support as these young people navigate the complexities
of life. Using Colossians 2:7 as an anchor, the students will begin to understand that “Grounded in Christ” and “Growing in Faith” have a firm foundation in faith and love for Jesus Christ by being rooted in His teachings, presence, and love. Jesus will provide the stability and strength needed
in one’s life.
OUR COMMITMENT
Committed to walking alongside the next generations, sharing biblical truths that will empower them on their spiritual journey, we aim to guide and support young people as they navigate the complexities of life. Let us, as the Student Ministry leaders, parents, and the church community, work together to equip our younger generations with the tools and wisdom needed to face challenges and seize opportunities while enriching their understanding of faith and its practical applications. We invite students to deepen their knowledge and experience of faith. Journey alongside our students as they learn to grow in their faith. Celebrate our students as they discover the richness of a Christ-centered life.
SPIRITUAL JOURNEY
As students embark on this journey, their spiritual growth will thrive through meaningful engagement and exploration, fostering a vibrant community anchored in love and purpose. Embarking on the journey of Rooted Generation: Grounded in Christ and Growing in Faith, our student ministry invites our students to deepen their understanding and experience of faith. As they navigate this transformative path, this spiritual journey will help them discover the richness of a Christ-centered life. Their spiritual growth will thrive through meaningful engagement and exploration, fostering a vibrant community anchored in love and purpose.
GROUNDED IN CHRIST
Students will desire to stay connected to Christ for spiritual strength and nourishment while remaining firm in their faith and firmly planted on the foundation of Jesus Christ. To be “grounded in Christ” is to let Christ be the firm foundation for one’s life. To be rooted is to stay connected to Christ for spiritual strength and nourishment. To be rooted in Christ is to remain strong in one’s faith, firmly planted on the sure foundation of Jesus Christ.
GROWING IN FAITH
Growing in faith is an ongoing spiritual discipline that students will develop throughout their spiritual journey. This process is marked by five intentional practices that help foster a dedicated and growing spiritual life.
1. Spending Time with God Through Prayer
Students are encouraged to practice prayer, which enhances their connection with God and provides guidance. Regular prayer helps them feel closer to Him, experience His presence, and find strength in His guidance.
2. Reading and Studying the Bible
Students’ understanding of Christ’s character and divine purpose grows as they study Scripture. As they read the Bible, they gain insights into Jesus’ teachings and example, creating a foundation for continuous spiritual growth.
3. Performing Acts of Service
Putting faith into action through service enriches the students’ spiritual journey. When students offer a helping hand to others and take a moment to reflect on the love and compassion at the heart of their faith, they joyfully express their beliefs and grow even closer to their spiritual goals.
4. Building Mutual Support Through Community Involvement
Being part of a community of believers fosters a welcoming environment where everyone can gather to support and encourage each other. When students form relationships with others who share their faith, they often find strength, accountability, and inspiration that enhance their spiritual journey.
5. Recognizing Personal Shortcomings and Extending Grace
Growing in faith is about embracing our imperfections and learning to forgive and seek forgiveness. When students show kindness and understanding to themselves and those around them, they nurture humility and compassion—essential qualities that help create a lively and meaningful spiritual journey.
This comprehensive approach embodies the commitment and discipline students need to nurture and sustain a growing spiritual life. As we begin this spiritual journey together, let’s keep our feet firmly grounded and deeply rooted in God’s Word so we can grow together.
